So, our psalm-writer, frustrated that the real God doesn’t seem to be the God he thought he knew, asks for help:
“Send out your light and your truth, let them lead me. Let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling” (Psalm 43:3 ESV).
“My circumstances have me fogged in, Lord. It’s dark and I’m losing sight of You, I’m lost in this fog of pain, Lord, come get me! The world, my flesh, and the devil are lying to me, Lord. They say that you have abandoned me, that You don’t really love me. I’m lost in these lies, Lord, come get me! Send out Your light and truth like a rescue party to find me out here where I am and bring me to where You are!”
